by the way, my Peshita translation renders Ezekiel Chapter 39, starting
at verse one as follows:
And you, O son of man, prophesy against China and say, Thus says the
Lord God: Behold, I am against you, O China, the ruler and the chief
prince of Meshech and Tubal; I will subdue you and gather you together,
and I will cause you to come up from the north parts, and bring you
upon the mountains of Israel; And I will swerve your bow ...
I don't find the Hebrew for China in the original, but Gog as usually
rendered. In fact, the translator, George Lamsa names China and Mongolia
starting at least as early as Chapter 38, verse 1, as a modern rendering
of Gog. If the "Ezekiel war" as some call it, properly maps
to Revelation 9:14-21, that would certainly explain the 200,000,000
soldiers overheard by John. Or maybe Mr. Lamsa jumped to conclusions.
I just found it interesting when I went to check Fab's choice of words
against my paper Bible.
